Are you looking for a role with sociable hours? Are you passionate about creating fresh delicious dishes? We are looking for a Chef to come on board and join our team to oversee our Basingstoke office canteen. The role will include all aspects of food preparation, such as making salads and preparing sandwiches plus daily specials. You will choose ingredients and design a menu to include good use of seasonal food items, creating delicious dishes that inspire customers to come back again and again to see what’s new in the canteen.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines.
- Prepare customers' orders according to their preferences.
- Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and ensuring sanitation practices are in place.
- Being responsible for health and safety within the canteen.
- Ensuring regulatory food hygiene practices are in place and adhered to.
- Experiment to come up with new specialties that will draw customers into the canteen.
- Liaise with suppliers and determine how much food to order and maintain an appropriate supply.
- Fulfil the catering requirements for group bookings as and when requested.
- Adhere to process and quality control and compliance and oversee the use of checklists and completion of daily refrigeration temperature checks; daily cleaning routines; stock rotation and control.
