As a Junior Sous Chef, you will support the Head and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations. Your responsibilities will include food preparation, ensuring quality and consistency, managing kitchen inventory, assisting in menu development, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. You will also mentor junior staff, ensuring high standards are upheld. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Maybole.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist in leading, guiding and encouraging the team
- Running the pass in the absence of the Head Chef
- Uphold the quality of dishes, managing the orders so that each station can efficiently work and deliver
- Create and develop seasonal menus that reflect quality and creativity
- Manage kitchen operations including monitoring, controlling and ordering stock
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations and protocols
- Closely collaborate with other departments to deliver an exceptional experience to all guests and aim to exceed their expectations
