The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.
To optimise medicines management and medication processes within the surgery to achieve highly effective, safe, patient centred care, in line with the latest guidelines. The Pharmacy technician will be working alongside Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and prescription clerks.
Main duties of the job
- To support the management and development of the prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective, and quality prescribing within the surgery.
- To work closely with the Clinical Pharmacist for prescribing on individual prescribing projects or audits.
- To develop strong working relationships with local community pharmacies to assist patients and provide a high-quality service.
- To act as lead contact for any complex prescribing queries on behalf of the network.

Job responsibilities
Professional Responsibilities:
- To work under supervision of a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist.
- Be responsible for remaining up to date with training course CPD.
- To participate in clinical supervision.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Highlight any gaps in knowledge/training to the management team.
- Remain up to date with clinical guidelines to ensure practice remains evidence based.
- Work in line with organisational policies and procedural guidelines.
- Attend and participate in meetings when required.
Clinical Governance:
- Ensure accurate and legible notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded promptly in the patients notes on SystmOne.
- Ensure the safety of patients, relatives and colleagues and to report all incidents and near misses in line with the risk management policy.
- Remain up to date with mandatory training.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Person Specification
- GCSE Grade A to C in Maths and English.
- NVQ Level 3 / BTECH in Pharmacy Services or equivalent nationally recognised qualification.

- Evidence of experience in Primary Care and the Prescribing Processes in Primary Care.
- Experience of working flexibly and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience of having to prioritise caseload/manage own time effectively.
- Experience of managing change and conflict situations.
- Clinical Auditing Experience.
