We are seeking a HR Business Partner to join our friendly team. This is a highly visible, hands-on and operational HR role supporting our managers and staff. You will act as a trusted partner coaching, guiding and empowering managers to confidently lead their team in line with employment and regulatory legislation and best practice.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services you will support the delivery and development of all people related processes across Southend Care Ltd to support organisational objectives and ensure our values are embedded across the company.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a wide range of complex employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, capability and long-term absence in line with employment law, ACAS guidance, and policy.
- Provide effective line management of the HR team through regular supervision and performance appraisal process and development of their skills.
- Act as a trusted advisor and ’critical friend’ to Managers and work collaboratively on a range of people related processes to ensure they are managed in line with legislation and best practice.
- Train, coach and influence line managers to identify and respond to people issues, ensuring procedures are adhered to and implemented in a legally compliant, consistent and fair approach.
- Devise and deliver a range of HR training sessions to support with developing line managers' people management skills, thereby reducing the reliance on HR and supporting staff retention.
- Draft and update HR policies & procedures including template letters and documents, ensuring SCL is legally compliant and in line with organisation vision.
- Monitor and analyse key HR metrics such as turnover, absence rates etc to inform decision making, identifying trends and developing proactive solutions such as health & wellbeing initiatives, and staff engagement events.
- Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring strict adherence to Safer Recruitment guidelines, including employment checks and enhanced DBS tracking.
- You should be CIPD Level 7 Qualified (or working towards).
- Proven experience as a Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner ideally in a multi-site environment.
- Previous experience of developing & implementing HR Policies.
- Proven experience of TUPE and organisational change.
- Strong knowledge of employment law.
- Previous experience in care sector, or a regulatory service would be advantageous.
- Whilst Southend Care operates Hybrid working, the success of this role will be a highly visible individual with the ability to build relationships and make an impact; therefore the role offers one day working from home, subject to needs of the business.
