We are seeking a Part Time HR Advisor to join our friendly HR & Recruitment Team, working 4 days a week (30 hours) Tuesday - Friday. This is a hands-on operational HR role supporting the delivery of people-related processes across all Southend Care Ltd sites. You will report to the HR Business Partner and undertake generalist HR functions such as the day-to-day delivery of HR operations, policies and procedures incorporating employee relations and sickness absence management.
Key Responsibilities
- Working proactively with managers on a range of people-related matters including employee relations cases, HR policy and best practice, wellbeing, flexible working and absence management.
- Lead and manage an employee relations caseload, supporting investigations and hearings, ensuring they are conducted in a timely manner and in line with employment legislation and best practice.
- Provide training, coaching and advice to line managers, ensuring procedures are adhered to for all cases including discipline, grievance, performance, and ensuring a consistent and fair approach to people management.
- Through monitoring and analysis of absence trends, proactively support managers in managing absence effectively across their service area, providing advice on best practice and supporting with referrals to the health and wellbeing service.
- Liaise with Payroll provider regarding new starters, leavers and other employment changes to ensure Payroll is correct and updated accurately.
- Support with external and internal recruitment processes including issuing contracts of employment, pre-employment checks and other relevant correspondence.
About you
- Ideally you should be CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards) or have relevant experience.
- Proven experience as an HR Advisor.
- Previous experience of employee relations casework.
- Previous experience of organisational change.
- Previous experience of recruitment.
- Previous experience in the care sector, or a regulatory service would be advantageous.
- Ideally a driver with access to a car, as a requirement to visit other Southend Care sites.
