Southdown is the largest not-for-profit provider of care, support and housing in Sussex. We’ve been helping people access stable accommodation, mental health and care services since 1972, and today more than 900 people are part of our team.
As an HR Administrator (known internally as a People Services Administrator), you’ll join our People Services team, providing high-quality administrative support across the employee lifecycle. This includes recruitment and onboarding, absence management, training, employee relations and offboarding.
You’ll be a key point of support for colleagues and managers, helping to ensure our People processes are accurate, responsive and run smoothly. You’ll need to be organised, comfortable managing a varied workload and confident working with detailed and confidential information.
This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to develop and improve our People Services function, including the introduction of a new HR ticketing system. Working arrangements:
This is a 37 hours per week role, working Monday to Thursday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, and Friday, 9.00am to 4.30pm. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of two days each week in our Lewes office.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
What you’ll need for the role:
- Previous experience working in an HR or People Services team
- Knowledge of UK employment law, GDPR and best HR practices
- Experience in HR systems including HR Information Systems (HRIS), Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and Learning Management Systems platforms (LMS).
- Knowledge of Recruitment lifecycle, onboarding compliance, and employment checks.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Good written and verbal communication skills and a helpful, customer-focused approach
