Shift Details

MiNightVet Ipswich, based in Melton, is looking for an experienced ECC Vet to join their Out of Hours team. The rota comprises working a Saturday & Sunday day shift from 8am-7pm, followed by 7 nights 7pm-8am, followed by 3 weeks off. This works out as a weekly average of 26 hours a week (plus 2 bank holiday day shifts accommodated around your working pattern), giving you a great work‑life balance. You will be working in a fully equipped, forward‑thinking clinic where clinicians offer an extensive range of both medical and surgical services on site. You will work alongside a dedicated and experienced ECC RVN with additional support from a receptionist during day shifts. By the end of 2026 we will be relocating to a brand new purpose‑built hospital with modern facilities including an onsite CT scanner, dental X‑ray and dedicated species‑separate wards.

As an experienced vet (minimum 3–4 years + experience), you'll bring a strong level of clinical autonomy, be comfortable handling a varied caseload, offer guidance to the wider team and contribute to shaping clinical standards. This position would suit an experienced small animal vet, preferably with a minimum of 2+ years' experience. The role involves primary care OOH consultations, members of practice case transfers, inpatient care, medical work‑ups and surgery. A strong medical knowledge is required, and experience in routine and emergency surgery. You will possess good communication skills and have a passion to deliver excellent care and client service.
