We're looking for a Senior Clinical Director to join our team. The evolving role of the Senior Clinical Director is designed to deliver stronger strategic alignment, consistent leadership and improved performance across practices - including Silverton Vets, Seymour Vets and Dart Vale Vets in South Devon!
Responsibilities
- SCDs operate as dual strategic and operational leaders, blending regional priorities with strong local presence to ensure clarity of decision‑making, consistent guidance and accessible support.
- We anticipate a clinical commitment of approximately 30–40% depending on the requirement at the time and required leadership at the time.
- The remaining time is dedicated to people leadership, operational oversight and administrative support, working closely with the Regional Director to drive consistency, performance and engagement.
- Through defined engagement rhythms, including monthly on‑site visits and regular Business-as-Usual meetings, SCDs maintain a visible leadership presence and foster shared purpose across teams.
- Data‑driven performance management, supported by KPI dashboards, enables proactive problem‑solving, early risk identification and continuous improvement.
- With a people‑first approach, these leaders prioritise staff wellbeing, development and workload balance, supporting better outcomes for both teams and patients.
- They also deputise for the Regional Director when required, ensure leadership continuity, manage complaints, gather performance insights and handle urgent communications.
- Together, these responsibilities create a consistent, responsive and aligned leadership model that strengthens practice standards and organisational performance.
Qualifications
- This role requires experience managing multiple sites, along with proven ownership of budgets and P&L.
- You will need to be flexible in your approach, take the lead on key projects, and work closely with the Regional Director.
- Additionally, you will collaborate with the HR Business Partner and recruitment team to support broader organisational objectives.
