We have an exciting opportunity for a Weekend Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at PetMedics. We are an RCVS accredited 24-hour Small Animal Veterinary Hospital and Advanced Clinical Services centre.
Offering a salary of up to £33,000 (pro rata), dependent on experience, plus benefits. This is an exciting opportunity to join our established nursing team, working weekends only. We value our team and want to allow you to be the nurse you want to be!
You will enjoy being part of a friendly, welcoming and supportive team within a spacious practice. We are well equipped, with up-to-date equipment, and forward thinking and this role offers all aspects of general practice and referral nursing. We support our Nurses to deliver care at its best.
The role…
- To provide a high standard of nursing care, including intensive care and emergency critical care, to a variety of patients.
- Assist our Vets during surgical and medical procedures.
- Monitor and support the recovery of patients post-surgery.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Support and collaborate with your peers.
- Contribute to the efficient running of the practice, including client communication.
- Support and run nursing clinics.

PetMedics is a large veterinary hospital, staffed by a team of 37 veterinary surgeons, 41 nurses and a supporting team of PCAs, receptionists, administrative staff and an ambulance team. We have a large waiting room with a separate cat waiting area. We are proud to have been awarded the GOLD status for being a Cat Friendly Clinic and the SILVER Rabbit Friendly status. Our facilities include - 4 theatres, 6 consulting rooms, an intensive care ward, separate cat and dog wards, an exotics ward, an isolation ward, a digital X-ray, a CT scanner, several ultrasound scanners, endoscopy, laparoscopy, mechanical ventilation, and an extensive in-house laboratory.
Salary and Hours
The salary is up to £33,000 (pro rata) depending on experience, plus benefits. We are looking for someone to work 1 in 4 weekends or every other weekend on an annualised hours contract. Shift times are 7am-4.30pm and 6am-3.30pm.
