Miller & Swann Elgin have an opening for a Veterinary Surgeon to join on a maternity cover basis. You'll be joining our friendly team of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, receptionists and administrative support; all contributing to provide the best clinical care to our patients and clients. We are an RCVS-accredited general practice in the heart of Elgin, Scotland, which is a fantastic community with great connections for those who have an appetite to explore all that Morayshire has to offer.
The Veterinary Surgeon opportunity is a full-time, maternity cover position; on a 4-day per week rota, including 1 night on call per week, and 1 weekend per month. The successful Veterinary Surgeon will have access to support from Vet Oracle; a unique range of digital teleservices, led by veterinary specialists and referral clinicians who provide interpretations and clinical advice in their respective disciplines; including medicine, radiology, cardiology, dermatology, oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, dentistry.

Elgin lies on the south coast of the Moray Firth in Scotland, roughly midway between Inverness and Aberdeen. Known as the ‘whiskey region', there are many local distilleries, cathedrals (once classed as Scotland's most beautiful), and you are close to sandy beaches and relatively near to some major cities (36 miles to Inverness and 57 miles north west to Aberdeen). In Elgin, you are well connected with regular trains and driving with an hour to the beautiful Cairngorms, a few minutes from the coast. Also in Elgin, there is a great variety of primary and secondary schools, full of history with beautiful buildings.
