About the Role
Animed is looking for an experienced veterinary professional ready to step outside of clinical practice into a leadership and operational role. This position is ideal for:
- A qualified Vet (MRCVS) seeking a career change
- Or someone with strong veterinary/practice experience
- With proven management or leadership experience
You’ll lead the development and scaling of our prescription services, managing a growing team and ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and high-quality customer outcomes.
Role Details:
- Location: Remote-first (with travel to Diss, Norfolk every 8–12 weeks).
- Contract: Permanent.
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Dispensing Vets, and in the future - responsibility for SQPs and Veterinary Nurses
- Build a positive, high‑performing team culture
- Design and implement a scalable, future‑ready operating model
- Use technology and support functions to improve efficiency and service delivery
- Ensure full compliance with VMD regulations and internal SOPs
- Partner with the Compliance Lead to maintain regulatory standards
- Oversee the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of prescription medications
- Implement risk mitigation and continuous improvement processes
- Define, monitor, and report on KPIs
- Use systems such as Doctract and Q‑Pulse for auditing and tracking
- Ensure effective communication between customers, prescribing vets, and internal teams
About You
Essential:
- RCVS registered (MRCVS)
- Experience in dispensing prescription medication
- Proven people management and leadership experience
- Strong understanding of VMD/legal requirements
- Commercial awareness, ideally within retail or e‑commerce
- Data‑driven, with strong analytical and reporting skills
You’ll also be:
- A proactive self‑starter
- Comfortable operating both strategically and hands‑on
- Customer‑focused with strong problem‑solving skills
