If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join our team as a Payroll Assistant on a 12 Month FTC! This role is based from our Head Office in Diss on a hybrid basis (3 days a week in the office, and 2 days a week from home).

Summary of role:

  • Working closely with the Payroll Team, ensure the accurate and timely processing of the monthly payroll is completed each month.
  • Overall responsibility for the completion of New Stater and Leaver processing across the UK payroll.
  • Responsible for the assessment of all applications for Statutory and Contractual forms of parental related leave in the UK, including Statutory Maternity Pay and Leave and Statutory Paternity Pay and Leave.
  • Supporting the wider payroll processing as and when required to ensure payroll deadline is achieved each month.
  • Supporting the business by delivering a high level of customer service and support in all payroll matters to all colleagues and stakeholders both internal and external.

Please note: training will be provided to the successful candidate and previous payroll experience is not essential for applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing all New Starter and Leavers records within payroll each month.
  • Processing daily transmissions from HMRC into payroll system.
  • Calculation of statutory and occupational parental leave related payments.
  • Completion of ONS monthly submissions accurately and on time.
  • Preparing reports for the Payroll Team to aid month end reconciliations.
  • Responding to payroll queries through Halo email management system.
  • Problem solving & advising employees on queries in a professional manner.
  • Compliance with business policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to the development of departmental processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Providing high quality Customer Service.
  • Previous experience within an office-based role.
  • Being attentive to detail and ability to logically work through payroll issues.
  • Having a strong ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good time management and planning skills.
  • To be able to integrate with the team and other departments.
  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Working knowledge of Resource Link payroll would be an advantage.
  • Intermediate level of Excel (eg vlookup, pivot table functions) and good Microsoft skills would be an advantage.
