We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a Twilight Veterinary Care Assistant at MiNightVet Chester. We are looking for someone who can join us on a 12-month fixed term contract, on a part-time basis working on average 19.25 hours a week with a 2-week rota pattern:
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday (7pm-11:30pm), Saturday & Sunday (7am-3:30pm)
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (7pm-11:30pm)

About the role: The Patient Care Assistant role is one of the foundations of an outstanding veterinary practice, and as a PCA you will be involved in supporting our team of qualified RVNs and Vets to provide outstanding care to our patients. Some of the duties will include:
- Walking patients
- Supporting with physio for recovery
- Bathing patients
- Feeding patients
- Weighing patients
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the hospital
- Keeping areas of the hospital stocked
- Holding for procedures such as bloods, IV placement
- Running samples in the lab
- Helping reception to cover for meetings/lunches
- Helping the sterile service technicians when required to clean kits/theatre
What we're looking for in our Veterinary Patient Care Assistant:
- An excellent communicator with strong empathy
- Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
- Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
- A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
- Experience in looking after animals in a veterinary environment and working night shifts would be desirable
