We're looking for a passionate and motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Student Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team at Lamorna House Veterinary Centre.
Role Details:
- Location: Lamorna House Veterinary Centre, East Hill, Tuckingmill, Camborne TR14 8NQ
- Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
- No out-of-hours requirements

About the Role:
As a Student Veterinary Nurse (SVN), you will play a critical role in our outstanding veterinary practice, supporting our team of RVNs and Vets in delivering exceptional patient care. Here's what you will be doing:
- Provide nursing care to patients
- Assist Vets and Nurses in animal restraint during treatments
- Clean, walk, and feed patients
- Prepare emergency and operating facilities
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties
- Run internal lab samples
- Answer emergency calls
- Cover the receptionist desk, including handling queries, booking appointments, and processing payments
Who We're Looking For:
- Currently studying as a 2nd or 3rd year SVN with relevant hands‑on experience
- Excellent communication skills with strong empathy
- Strong customer service experience and confidence interacting with the public
- Solid understanding of animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating, and handling
- Resilience and the ability to manage emotional and challenging situations
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Experience in a veterinary environment is highly desirable
Required Qualifications (for college enrolment):
- Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including English, Maths, and a Science subject OR An Animal Nursing Assistant (ANA) or Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) qualification, plus Functional Skills Level 2 in Application of Number and Communication
