We're looking for a passionate and motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Student Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team at Lamorna House Veterinary Centre.

Role Details:

  • Location: Lamorna House Veterinary Centre, East Hill, Tuckingmill, Camborne TR14 8NQ
  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
  • No out-of-hours requirements

About the Role:

As a Student Veterinary Nurse (SVN), you will play a critical role in our outstanding veterinary practice, supporting our team of RVNs and Vets in delivering exceptional patient care. Here's what you will be doing:

  • Provide nursing care to patients
  • Assist Vets and Nurses in animal restraint during treatments
  • Clean, walk, and feed patients
  • Prepare emergency and operating facilities
  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Run internal lab samples
  • Answer emergency calls
  • Cover the receptionist desk, including handling queries, booking appointments, and processing payments

Who We're Looking For:

  • Currently studying as a 2nd or 3rd year SVN with relevant hands‑on experience
  • Excellent communication skills with strong empathy
  • Strong customer service experience and confidence interacting with the public
  • Solid understanding of animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating, and handling
  • Resilience and the ability to manage emotional and challenging situations
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
  • Experience in a veterinary environment is highly desirable

Required Qualifications (for college enrolment):

  • Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including English, Maths, and a Science subject OR An Animal Nursing Assistant (ANA) or Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) qualification, plus Functional Skills Level 2 in Application of Number and Communication
