Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists is a renowned multidisciplinary referral hospital, delivering advanced veterinary care across the South of England, including London and the Thames Valley. Our Specialist-led services span Anaesthesia & Analgesia, Orthopaedic Surgery, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Dermatology, Cardiology, Emergency & Critical Care, Oncology, and Diagnostic Imaging.
About the Role: We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Referral Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) to join our Referral Night Nursing Team. This vital role focuses on inpatient care and emergency & critical care during out-of-hours, offering exposure to a wide variety of complex cases. You’ll work closely with our Specialists and ward RVNs, supported by a rotating intern on-site and multiple specialists on-call. Collaboration with our surgical team is a key part of the role, ensuring seamless patient care. Core hours are 20:00 – 08:30, but we are happy to discuss alternative shift patterns to support your work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering high standards of nursing care to inpatients and emergency cases admitted out-of-hours
- Administering treatments and medications as prescribed by our specialist clinicians
- Communicating effectively across disciplines to ensure accurate and timely patient care plans
- Handling incoming calls professionally and taking appropriate action
