Southcroft Lodge provides hotel-style accommodation for patients discharged from hospital, support for those in Crisis in the Community, long-term supported-living community placements and B&B step-down from the hospital. Our aim is to provide a therapeutic, structured environment for Clients to continue their recovery in the community. We empower the individuals we work with to realise their potential.
Location: Southwark, United Kingdom. Salary: £29,900- £31,000 dependant on experience.

The Role
Do you live in Southwark? Are you looking for a fulfilling job that supports other people? Do you have experience of mental health? If so, we are looking for you to run our Southwark Recovery Space Service. This exciting new venture will support service users with mental health needs at their point of need in the community. The project has a strong emphasis on prevention; being rooted in the community and being culturally appropriate for the residents of Southwark. The service will be open from midday to 11pm 365 days a year with the primary focus of preventing presentations at A&E through community redirection and supportive Recovery and Crisis planning. This might be of interest if you are a recently graduated Psychologist or Occupational Therapist. We are particularly interested in applicants with lived experience of mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Client crisis support - Provide compassionate, professional support to clients experiencing mental health crisis or acute distress, ensuring safety, deescalation, and appropriate follow-up actions.
- Resolution planning - Apply working knowledge of developing effective resolution plans, collaborating with clients and partners to create structured, goal-focused pathways toward stability and improved wellbeing.
Requirements
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Must have demonstrable experience of working with clients in mental health crisis and distress and understanding how to create resolution plans.
- Must have experience of facilitating Groups in the community.
- Must have experience of working in crisis situations.
- Must be able to work safely and autonomously with support structures provided.
- An understanding of service-user led projects, and the Recovery Model.
- Must be proactive, thoughtful, have professional curiosity, a willingness to learn and be willing to take the initiative and be psychologically engaged.
Qualification
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or above (or evidence of working towards this).
