With over 70 years of engineering excellence and more than 3,000 employees across 20 countries, Southco is a global leader in engineered access solutions — products that you and thousands of others interact with every day. Our locks, latches, fasteners, hinges and handles serve virtually every industry worldwide.
This is a hybrid role combining Supplier Quality Engineering and Quality Engineering responsibilities within our New Product Development (NPD) team — the critical link between front-end product design and sales, and back-end operations.
Working within a cross-functional team of Manufacturing Engineers, Project Buyers and Product Evaluation specialists, you’ll help drive new products through the APQP process (Workfront) as effectively as possible, while supporting our supplier base in meeting Southco’s service, quality, cost and reliability objectives.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure APQP activities are executed effectively and PPAP submissions are accurate and compliant.
- Own the PPAP process end to end — ensuring complete alignment of documentation and boundary samples between suppliers and the customer.
- Set the standard on APQP disciplines, AAR objectivity, Lessons Learnt and FMEA processes.
- Drive supplier performance measurement and continuous improvement.
- Support the NPD quality team across all European-based projects.
