Description

We are currently looking for a Assistant Registrar to join on a permanent, full time basis. Along with the Senior Registrar, Registrar and Exhibition Bookings and Indemnity Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for your own set exhibition projects and to collaborate with the curatorial and technical teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with fine art shippers to obtain shipping, transport and packing estimates for exhibitions and loans
  • Prepare documentation associated with transport and loans including transport receipts, exhibition lists, condition reports and crate labels
  • Liaise with lenders to arrange the collection and return of exhibition loans and confirm with colleagues that appropriate insurance arrangements are in place
  • Liaise with external conservators, monitor condition checking of exhibitions and loans, collating condition reports and related photographic records
  • Administer the transport of the Hayward spotlight exhibitions, including booking collections and deliveries with external transport companies, monitoring agreed schedules, dealing with enquiries from venues

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of working in a registrar or exhibitions team in a museum/gallery or fine art shipping company
  • Familiarity with museum standards regarding packing, handling, transportation, and environmental display conditions
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, to prioritise workload, and maintain good communication across all teams
  • Experience in condition-checking objects and completing condition reports
  • Experience in using a Collections Management system
