Hours: 19.5 hours a week. Hours to be worked on a rota basis, may include weekends and bank holidays. Salary: £12,922 per annum / £12.71 per hour (£24,851.23 per annum FTE).

Overview of Role

To maintain a quality, effective, consistent and reliable housekeeping service across all areas at Mountbatten Hampshire. This service will ensure a pleasant, safe, clean and welcoming environment is provided for patients, visitors, employees and volunteers.

Key Tasks

  • To participate in all housekeeping duties on the Inpatient Unit (IPU), including cleaning patient rooms, bathrooms, beds and equipment, working to cleaning schedules and Hospice processes.
  • To carry out housekeeping duties to ensure communal areas, day services, staff offices and staff areas e.g. corridors and toilets, working to cleaning schedules and Mountbatten processes.
  • Taking down and hanging of curtains.
  • To be responsible for following Mountbatten guidelines for colour coded equipment and following safe working practices including, but not limited to Health and Safety guidelines, Infection Control and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
  • To dispose of waste following the correct standards and requirements, in accordance with infection control procedures.
  • Always follow safe working practices, particularly about the use of electrical equipment, and maintain personal awareness of Health & Safety, bringing to the attention of the appropriate manager any risks identified.
  • To observe complete confidentiality of all information relating to patients, employees, volunteers and hospice business with an awareness of and adherence to the legal requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults is expected and training will be given to support this.
  • Attend induction training, annual mandatory training, and any other appropriate recommended training.
  • Undertake any other duties as requested from time to time by the Lead Housekeeper.
