What is the role?
We are looking for a Set Piece Analyst to join our Performance Analysis department to ensure Men\’s First Team players and staff receive insight that develops their tactical and technical intelligence in a proactive manner.
What will you be doing?
You will analyse our set pieces after every match and training session (using Hudl Sportscode and Hudl Studio) as well as watching opposition set pieces to help prepare the coaches and/or players for competitive fixtures, advising suggestions of how to exploit weaknesses and prevent threats.
Creating and maintaining set piece databases from our own matches along with opposition and best practice around the world, you will support and track data to ensure we measure set piece performances accurately as well as monitor trends in set pieces (in collaboration with the data team) to offer insight to the coaches.
You will assist coaches pitch side with analysis tools (such as iPad or TV screen on buggy) as well as film training and matches using fixed cameras and other filming equipment. You will process and upload all set-piece sessions and in-match set pieces to Hudl platforms and the internal server in the correct format.
Is this you?
You have a good level of football knowledge from experience working in a professional club alongside professional coaches as well as a strong understanding of providing feedback and learning environments.
With great attention to detail and excellent communication skills, you have an innovative approach to the analysis provision at first team level and the ability to adapt to changing situations on and off the pitch.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience using Hudl products
- Proficient using Second Spectrum platform
- Experience interpreting data
- Experience using Apple and Microsoft products to present/database work.
- Graduate of a bachelor Sport’s degree or Master’s level degree in a Performance Analysis or Sports Science.
- Working towards the completion of coaching badges
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a first team environment
- UEFA B Licence
