What is the role?

The role is to support the Football Club’s non-matchday events team in growing revenue and maximising venue use by selling, coordinating, and delivering high-quality events throughout the year. You will help position St Mary’s Stadium as a versatile event destination beyond football, working as part of the Special Events team to ensure an exceptional customer experience. A strong understanding of the club’s event spaces, products, and offerings is essential for engaging prospective clients and ensuring efficient event delivery.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will proactively reach out to potential clients, build strong relationships, and identify opportunities to sell and upsell to maximise revenue. You’ll respond promptly to all inbound enquiries and convert leads into successful bookings. A key part of your role will be building a targeted sales funnel through research and outbound activity, aiming to meet and exceed event revenue targets.

You will represent Special Events at the stadium, attending event days, engaging with clients, and ensuring they feel valued and well looked after. You’ll assist in planning and delivering events and concerts, while maintaining accurate records in our CRM system. Strong collaboration with internal stakeholders is essential to ensure everyone is aligned and well-briefed on event details. You’ll review and evaluate events to identify key learnings and improvements, staying up to date with best practices in event delivery.

Is this you?

You have at least one year of sales experience and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets. You may hold a degree in event management or sales, or have at least one year of hands-on experience in event coordination. You’ve previously worked in a unique venue, event site, or festival setting, giving you a strong understanding of dynamic event environments. Your communication skills are exceptional, both in person and over the phone, and you\’re known for being efficient, well-organised, and able to manage your time effectively—especially when working to tight deadlines.
