What is the role?
As an Email Marketing Executive, you will create and send targeted email and wider direct marketing communications, leveraging the data we have on our fans. Your role will focus on implementing a variety of strategic email marketing campaigns aimed at engaging with fans and driving revenue across key commercial areas within Southampton Football Club.
We are looking for someone who shows a willingness and energy to get involved and to suggest new ideas for the team to develop and grow with a real drive in gaining better results.
What will you be doing?
Supporting a season-long campaign plan, you’ll contribute across key areas like season tickets, match tickets, memberships, hospitality, retail and more to execute our email marketing plan around these areas, aligning with the marketing goals.
Your responsibilities include monitoring email campaign performance using a test-and-learn approach to maximise effectiveness, optimising data collection to grow our database and assisting with regular reporting on campaign results, database size and data quality. You’ll also use segmentation to deliver timely, relevant messages to fans, ensuring all communications are engaging and reflect the club’s tone of voice.
Is this you?
We are looking for someone with at least one years’ experience in an email marketing role. You will be equipped with knowledge of key marketing channels and know your way around building campaigns. A huge passion of the sport or football industry goes a long way as well.
You’ll also have an understanding of the importance of data and using that data in an innovative way to target the right groups of supporters with the right message, via the right channel, at the right time.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- One year’s experience in a similar email marketing role.
- Educated to at least degree level, or equivalent experience.
- Hands on marketing experience.
- Passion for learning and keeping up with changes and trends.
- Confident in using spreadsheets – comfortable looking at a table of figures and being able to take insights from what you see.
- An organised team player, the ability to work across multiple teams; always thinking about how best to deliver our campaigns to achieve the wide-ranging club goals.
Desirable Experience & Skills
- Experience of using Dotdigital or an equivalent platform to send email communications.
- You know your way around Photoshop and InDesign.
