What is the role?

We are seeking a skilled and passionate football coach to join our team at our assessment centre, based in London. This role involves working with young players aged 12 to 16, coaching and developing them as they progress toward elite academy‑level football. You will support players within the Foundation and Youth Development phases, helping them maximise their potential through tailored coaching, regular assessments, and ongoing performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will be based in the South East and have relevant coaching qualifications, along with experience working with junior players in either the Foundation or Youth Development age groups. You’ll play a crucial role in preparing young talent for the next step in their football journey.

What will you be doing?

As part of your role, you will plan, prepare, and evaluate coaching sessions aligned with the academy curriculum. You'll be responsible for recording player attendance in line with club protocols and monitoring player development during training and match performances. All assessments must be documented properly to meet auditing requirements. Regular communication with other key academy staff within your age group is expected to ensure consistency across the development pathway. You will also be required to engage in club‑led professional development and undertake personal CPD to keep up with the demands of the role. In addition to coaching, you will report any football or non‑football‑related issues concerning the players to your line manager. You'll coach and manage a designated age group during development games and other fixtures and contribute to the scouting and recruitment process where appropriate. Administrative responsibilities will form part of your role, including maintaining records and reporting. You’ll also liaise with parents as necessary, providing them with updates and essential information regarding the Assessment Centre process.
