What is the role?
Saints Foundation bring Southampton FC to the heart of the community, using the power of the club and our passionate team to help fulfil individual potential and make Southampton a better place to live for all. Through our Health pillar of work, our aim is to ‘Support adults and young people with health inequalities to stay healthy, active, and connected, encouraging them to lead fulfilled lives’.
This role will involve creating and leading a match day activation working in partnership with local mental health organisations. Ensuring all activations are staffed appropriately and delivered to a standard that will achieve our proposed outcomes.
What will you be doing?
You will lead on the development and delivery of matchday activations that align with the Premier League Suicide Prevention project. This involves ensuring that all activities are strategically planned and effectively executed to support the goals of the project.
You will also be responsible for managing the Casual Suicide Prevention Training Lead and other casual staff involved in delivering the Suicide Prevention Project. Leadership and coordination of the team will be essential to the success of the initiative.
Another key aspect of the role is interacting with supporters and partners both within the Extra Time Hub and around the stadium footprint on matchdays. Building meaningful connections with attendees and stakeholders will be vital.
Working closely with Southampton Football Club, you will help to ensure that matchday operations are well planned and that positive relationships are maintained. Coordination with the club is crucial to the smooth running and visibility of the project.
You will be responsible for ensuring the collection of all relevant insight and impact data, in line with the project’s insight and impact plan. Monitoring and evaluation are key to demonstrating the success and areas for improvement of the initiative.
Additionally, you will ensure that supporters are appropriately signposted to relevant services if and when needed. Providing clear and compassionate guidance is a core part of this support-focused role.
You will be expected to create and manage relationships with a range of mental health partners, working collaboratively to promote interventions and help deliver matchday events.
Finally, you will collaborate with existing Foundation projects and external partners to build pathways for further signposting and support, ensuring that individuals can access additional help beyond matchday activities.
