About This Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to undertake the role of Tree Surgery Team Ground Operative within Southampton City Council’s Tree Surgery Team. You will possess a professional approach to tree management and impeccable working standards. You will work within a tree surgery team to provide a visible and responsive front‑line service to the local community. Your work will help to make Southampton a safer, healthier, cleaner and more attractive city.
You will have experience of working in a team in a fast‑paced working environment. You will be competent and experienced in the use of chainsaw on the ground. You must have a full, clean driving licence. A towing licence, a certificate of competence in the use of woodchippers and a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in arboriculture or allied discipline is desirable.
Hours of Work
Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 15:30
Friday: 07:30 – 15:00

Salary band: £28,792 – £31,022 per annum. Starting salary: £28,792 with annual progression.
