Bitterne Manor Primary School seeks an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities

  • Help children learn in class, in small groups, or one-on-one, as directed by the teacher or SENCo.
  • Build caring, respectful relationships with children to support their confidence and wellbeing.
  • Learn each child’s needs and provide appropriate support.
  • Help plan, prepare and deliver learning activities, especially for children with additional needs.
  • Provide one-to-one support for children with more complex needs.

Qualifications

  • Caring, patient and passionate about supporting children’s learning and emotional well-being.
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly in a 1:1 support role, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work closely with class teachers, SENCo, and other staff.
  • Flexible and proactive approach.
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning strategies, with a commitment to ongoing training and professional growth.
  • Ideally, Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner or Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant.
