Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Specialist SEND Teacher. You will be part of an exciting opportunity to mould Tanners Brook\’s provision for children with high needs, playing a vital role in embedding inclusive practice across the school. This will be a key role within the school, supporting children with a range of complex and multiple needs including autism, SEMH, sensory processing and communication difficulties.

You will work across the school to plan and deliver individualised support and structured interventions, adapting activities and resources to meet the unique needs of each pupil. You will be expected to provide high-quality specialist support, including implementing personalised strategies, while also contributing to the review and development of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Responsibilities

This role also involves modelling effective practice for staff, offering guidance and coaching to support inclusive classroom strategies, and liaising closely with the SENDCo, external professionals, class teachers, and families. You should be confident in working closely with families, contributing to EHCP planning and reviews, and supporting the development of other staff through modelling and coaching. You will work across the school to plan and deliver individualised support and structured interventions, as above.

  • The resilience and skill to support children with EHCPs and complex learning profiles
  • A passion for inclusion and the confidence to lead provision within our alternative pathway
  • Excellent organisation skills (the ability to organise your own time and that of others)
  • A track record of coaching/mentoring and experience of line management
