Overview

Great Oaks School is a secondary special school for pupils with learning difficulties in Southampton.

Due to continued expansion, we require Special School Support Assistants to work across the school with individuals and small groups. The work will include supporting the learning of the young people under the direction of a teacher and helping to meet the personal care needs of the pupils in the school.

Experience and qualifications

Some experience of working with children in a school or care setting in a paid or voluntary capacity is essential. Experience of working with children with SEN is useful but not essential, as training will be given.

Hours and positions

Hours are 8:40 – 3:20 Monday to Friday with opportunity for some overtime if interested.

We also require Bank Support Special School Assistants to work across the school with individuals and small groups covering staff absence. If you are interested in exploring working with young people with SEND or can\\\’t commit to regular full-time hours bank work may be the ideal way in for you.
