We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Science Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a key role in fostering curiosity, developing scientific thinking, and encouraging students to achieve their full potential.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Teach Science across KS3 and KS4, including the delivery of GCSE specifications.
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in Science and model a passion for the discipline.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the wider work of the Science Department.
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour, progress, and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support whole school priorities and enrichment opportunities.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Support the Head of Department in the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of the Science curriculum.
- Plan and deliver quality-first teaching, underpinned by adaptive teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including students with SEND.
- Use assessment effectively to track and monitor student progress, adapting teaching in response to individual needs.
- Champion Cantell School's focus on EMPOWER skills.
- Work closely with the SEND team and support staff to ensure appropriate scaffolding, challenge and access for all students.
- Organise and support trips, visits and workshops that build students' scientific knowledge.
- Liaise effectively with parents, carers, support staff and external providers, including attending parents' evenings.
- Engage fully with the school's CPD programme, including training related to SEND, adaptive teaching and inclusive practice.
