Great Oaks School is a secondary special school for pupils with learning difficulties in Southampton. Due to continued expansion, we require Special School Support Assistants to work across the school with individuals and small groups. The work will include supporting the learning of the young people under the direction of a teacher and helping to meet the personal care needs of the pupils in the school.
Some experience of working with children in a school or care setting in a paid or voluntary capacity is essential. Experience of working with children with SEN is useful but not essential, as training will be given.
Great Oaks is part of the Specialist Schools Trust, comprising of Great Oaks and Rosewood Special Schools. Great Oaks has three sites across the City.
