At Bevois Town Primary School, there are no 'invisible' children. Every member of our learning community is unique and special; each with talents to discover and skills to share. There is nothing more important to us than the physical and emotional health and well-being of our pupils. However, in order for our children to thrive, it is essential that each and every pupil attends school regularly and that they feel safe. Knowledge of our families and strong relationships with our children and their parents/carers, together with careful analysis of information such as attendance, behaviour and welfare concerns, are key to being able to identify early intervention and support.
To build capacity in this area we are looking to appoint a Pupil Engagement Officer to work as part of our wider Inclusion Team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop this new role in our school and make a real difference to the lives of our children and their families.
Candidate Requirements- Are able to show empathy, understanding and genuine care for our children and their families without judgement or prejudice, being fair and consistent in approach.
- Have excellent communication skills and are able to develop excellent, positive relationships with children, parents/carers and staff and professionals.
- Are willing to contribute and work closely with team members and other agencies.
- Can be flexible, adaptable and use own initiative whilst working with some direction.
- Previous Social Care experience is highly desirable.
- An inclusive, learning community in which all learners, adults and children, are supported to thrive and achieve, regardless of their starting point.
- A supportive team of staff experienced in meeting the needs of learners with English as an Additional Language and/or Special Needs.
- Children who are enthusiastic and eager to learn and who inspire us to learn and improve every day.
