As an apprentice, you'll be receiving practical and professional training right from the start. Working alongside experienced colleagues who will supervise your development and a dedicated mentor providing support and guidance throughout your training. You will have regular reviews with your manager and tutor so you know how you are doing and can gain support with any activities to help you progress., We are looking for a confident and conscientious individual to undertake the role of Apprentice Transport Engagement Officer. Successful transport schemes depend on meaningful community engagement to deliver the best outcomes for our residents, businesses and visitors. Southampton's Local Transport Plan, Connected Southampton, sets out a vision to create a modern, liveable and sustainable city by investing in smarter, greener and more innovative transport solutions. We are seeking an Apprentice Transport Engagement Officer to help us better understand the transport challenges affecting our communities and support collaborative approaches to addressing the complex issues facing our city region. The postholder will assist in developing and delivering engaging consultation and community involvement programmes for transport projects. This will include organising events, supporting community co-design activities, conducting surveys and gathering feedback to ensure local voices help shape future transport improvements. The role plays a vital part in informing the design and delivery of schemes that enhance public transport, encourage active travel and reduce congestion across the city. Through a combination of formal training and practical experience, the Apprentice Transport Engagement Officer will develop the skills and knowledge needed to communicate key transport and sustainability messages effectively. They will help ensure communities understand the benefits of transport initiatives, while providing valuable insights that enable transport teams to respond to local needs and aspirations for change. At Southampton City Council we are committed to paying Foundation Living Wage as a minimum and we believe apprentices should also be paid fairly. Your salary as an apprentice will be Β£25,614 annually and may increase in line with any national rise in Foundation Living Wage., with 15.2% employer contribution
