Responding Support Officer Weekend Posts

We Have 2x Permanent Weekend Responding Support Officer Positions

Salary: £32,061 – £36,362 pro rata 12 Hours per week plus Shift Allowance.

Hours of Work: 08:30 – 21:30 hours working Saturday and Sunday every other weekend

We are looking to recruit 2 new Responding Support Officers to respond to emergency telecare alarm calls within Southampton. You will be responsible for visiting elderly and vulnerable people in their own homes in response to emergency telecare alarm activations.

Working within the City Telecare Services Team, which provides emergency support to people 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, you will assess, offer support and reassurance and give general assistance. You will require a high level of patience, sensitivity and understanding to deal with a variety of different situations. You will be writing reports and completing other administrative tasks in relation to your role such as making referrals to other agencies.

It’s an incredibly fast paced but exceptionally rewarding role that requires quick but effective decision making. You’ll be compassionate, empathetic and have exceptional communication skills but be able to cope with competing demands, sometimes in stressful conditions. You’ll need to be able to work independently and on own initiative whilst operating as a committed member of the team.

You are required to have a full UK driving licence. A vehicle will be provided for you to carry out your duties. This is a uniformed service and uniform and PPE will be provided.
