We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our logistics and distribution centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse activities, ensuring efficient materials handling, and maintaining high standards of safety and organisation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and a solid background in warehouse management to contribute to our ongoing success.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, and storage operations.
- Oversee materials handling processes, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods using equipment such as forklifts.
- Implement process improvements to optimise workflow, minimise delays, and enhance productivity.
- Manage inventory using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Lead and develop a team of warehouse operatives, fostering a positive working environment and promoting safety compliance.
- Organise logistics operations in collaboration with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to meet delivery schedules.
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical equipment and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including heavy lifting procedures and safe forklift operation.
- Assist with shipping & receiving documentation, ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
- Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles within a logistics environment.
- Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and process optimisation.
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms.
- Knowledge of logistics operations, including shipping & receiving procedures and 3PL coordination.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on equipment.
- Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment requiring heavy lifting and physical activity.
