Key Responsibilities:
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper cleaning and sanitising techniques.
- Clean and sanitise food preparation surfaces, storage areas, and equipment following hygiene standards.
- Loading/unloading dishwasher.
- Cleaning entire kitchen once it is closed to ensure it is ready for the next day.
- Empty waste bins and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and food storage areas.
- Support the kitchen team by taking deliveries, ensuring ingredients and supplies are properly stocked and readily available.
- Follow instructions from the kitchen staff to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items.
- Providing assistance to Prep Cooks and other kitchen staff, as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Properly handle and dispose of food waste, adhering to waste management guidelines and procedures.
- Comply with recycling and composting practices to minimise the environmental impact of kitchen operations.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Report any safety hazards, accidents, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
- Follow personal hygiene practices, including proper handwashing and wearing required protective gear.
