In this role you will collate and analyse a range of data and information to measure and report on performance priorities, identify key drivers and deliver insights to inform improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance frameworks: support development of key measures and reporting products to enable effective measurement, monitoring and management of performance outcomes
  • Data extraction & provision: define data requirements and query, process and present data from core IT systems in line with required specifications
  • Data quality & validation: identify appropriate methods to clean and validate data, highlight data quality issues and support identification of root causes
  • Data analysis: undertake analytical projects and apply a range of analytical and statistical tools and techniques to conduct problem solving analysis and generate high quality insights
  • Data visualisation: use a range of tools and techniques to present data insights in the most appropriate format, highlighting exceptions and delivering insightful storytelling
  • Data communication: report and present data, insights and evidenced recommendations using a range of written, verbal and visual methods tailored to the audience
  • Survey management: design, process and analyse surveys aligned to research objectives
  • BI report development: use a range of software to develop business intelligence products to support automation of reporting and deliver user insights
  • Technical Skills & Innovation: use a range of analytical and business software (e.g. MS 365, Power BI) to develop performance reporting and analysis products
  • Engagement & Collaboration: support engagement with business leads, collaborate with other analysts and actively participate in tactical level meetings

Skills And Experience

  • Experience in working with statistical data and information, including the analysis, interpretation and reporting of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Experience of conducting in-depth statistical analysis to generate business insights.
  • Experience of presenting statistical data and information in a range of visually appealing formats.
  • Understanding of data quality impact with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to use a range of analytical and business software (e.g. MS 365 products).
  • Flexible, positive and committed approach to completing work tasks.

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
