Role Overview: Temporary for 12 months – Salary: £25,242 - £27,204 – Hours: 37 – Location: Barnsley & across all 4 districts in South Yorkshire.
In this role you will handle all aspects of property coming into South Yorkshire Police’s possession appropriately, complying with legislation and force policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must be able to travel to any location within the district, working across the force area.
- Must be able to lift heavy items.
- Post holder will be required to wear a uniform.
- Work as part of a project team to audit long term property and reconcile against the property database.
- Record and maintain property other than found in a computer database.
- Chasing and disposal of property as necessary.
- Assist with the transportation of property across the force.
- Liaise with OIC’s or dedicated spokes to gain Retention or disposal decisions.
- Any other duties commensurate with the position of the Property Store Clerk.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience of working in an administrative role.
- Experience of dealing with members of the public face to face and over the telephone.
- Computer literate with experience of data input and retrieval using Microsoft applications.
- Current clean driving licence.

Eligibility:
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre‑requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
