Key Responsibilities
- Lead and be involved with projects, directing, researching, analysing and producing reports that formulate appropriate recommendations and action plans within agreed parameters.
- Identify opportunities for effectiveness and smarter ways of working for the force.
- Produce well-structured, high-quality project documentation to PRINCE2 standards.
- Provide briefing papers and reports for the Project Boards, Senior Management and key stakeholders.
- Present project information in a clear and understandable manner to the target audience, enabling informed decision-making.
- Effectively manage resources, technical planning, procurement and implementation of force development projects from initial conception through to monitoring.
- Ensure agreed quality standards, budgets and time-scales are adhered to, and adopt best-practice project management principles throughout the project lifecycle.
- Critically evaluate and adapt service delivery to meet changing customer needs, ensuring effective liaison and open communication channels.
- Liaise with other practitioners and specialist functions to develop innovative, timely and cost-effective best-practice solutions that can be implemented across the force.
- Participate in decision-making and make recommendations on a range of issues on a regular basis to the Management Team.
- Provide advice and guidance to support groups and staff.
- Work with specialist teams/suppliers across multiple sites, holding regular meetings and monitoring performance.
- Act as a technical expert on specialised projects, ensuring they meet relevant national guidelines and strategies.
Skills and Experience
- Educated to Degree Level in an appropriate subject area or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge and experience of project planning and methodologies, PRINCE2 practitioner.
- Knowledge and experience of strategy and planning.
- Knowledge of Business Analysis techniques and methodologies.
- Knowledge of business models and continuous improvement models.
- Knowledge of stakeholder engagement and communication.
