Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative maintenance and servicing on police vehicles, plant and equipment to a high standard.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on police vehicles, plant or equipment using manufacturer’s electronic diagnosis equipment.
  • Attend incapacitated vehicles at the roadside or vehicle base, and recover or repair as required.
  • Recover police vehicles without supervision where required by management.
  • Carry out uncertified M.O.T standard tests on police vehicles.
  • Work at any of the Police workshops on short‑ or long‑term assignments as directed by Vehicle Fleet Management.
  • Attend technical and personal development training courses, including occasional overnight stays at manufacturers’ premises.
  • Complete all approved Vehicle Fleet Management forms and paperwork accurately.
