As a Graduate Testing and Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and security of deployments of new technology and upgrades to existing systems. You will collaborate with software developers, business analysts, project support teams, and third-party suppliers to support delivery of robust and reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaboration: Work with software developers, business analysts, project support teams, and third-party suppliers.
- Test Execution: Carry out various types of testing, including Functional, User Acceptance, and System Integration, by executing test scripts.
- Test Preparation: Document comprehensive test scripts.
- Documentation: Prepare and review Test Plans and Test Completion reports.
- Metrics: Provide regular updates to stakeholders on testing progress and defects.
- Troubleshooting: Raise defects when the expected behaviour of software is not met.
- Communication: Attend and contribute to defect calls and testing workshops.
- Time Management/Prioritization: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring effective time management and prioritization
Skills And Experience
- A STEM-based degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent experience.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities to liaise with various stakeholders and can convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Technical Proficiency: Competent in using Microsoft 365 Suite.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills to manage tight deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Eligibility
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
