Role Purpose

South Yorkshire Police are seeking a dedicated and proactive specialist to play a vital role in reducing domestic abuse by ensuring perpetrators are effectively managed through both engagement and enforcement strategies.

In This Role, You Will

  • Identify high-risk offenders using data-driven approaches.
  • Collaborate with partners to share critical information in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Develop and implement robust safety plans.
  • Coordinate targeted interventions aimed at reducing repeat victimisation and reoffending.

Your work will directly contribute to creating safer communities by disrupting patterns of abuse and supporting long-term change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research police systems and liaise with police and partnership colleagues to identify domestic abuse perpetrators that present the greatest threat, risk and harm. This includes risks and vulnerabilities to both the victims, their families or others affected by the abuse.
  • Support district perpetrator management meetings through consistent attendance and offender nominations. Work with partners to ensure that such information is used to inform effective risk assessments and set safety plans and interventions including actions by South Yorkshire Police.
  • Provide administrative support to district offender management meetings and track delivery of actions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of district owned problem solving plans for domestic abuse offenders.
  • Ensure police systems are updated with all relevant information to ensure risks are identified by officers and staff working with victims and their families and perpetrators.
  • Identify themes and trends that indicate broader risks across communities.
  • Identify opportunities for learning and practice improvements that would improve outcomes for victims and families and work with both local, force and partner agencies to support delivery.
  • Maintain data sets to assist the organisation and partners in understanding the risks and inform the national discussion on domestic abuse perpetrator management.
  • Attend local, regional and national meetings as directed by PVP-PAG Senior Leadership Team.
  • Undertake mandatory training and complete continuous professional development.
  • Support other vulnerability workstreams within PVP-PAG as required.

Skills And Experience

  • A sound working knowledge of Domestic Abuse, Stalking and Honour Based Abuse, policies and procedures.
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency, safeguarding environment.
  • Experience of attending, participating in and presenting at meetings.
  • Ability to collate statistics and compile reports.
  • Experience of interrogating systems.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
