The Learning & Development Support Officer plays a vital role in bringing this to life, providing high-quality administrative and operational support across organisational development, learning and early careers activity.

Based within People Services, this role helps keep learning at SYMCA running smoothly and provide excellent customer service to internal colleagues and external stakeholders. You will ensure development activity is well organised, accurately recorded and easy to access, supporting colleagues and managers to navigate systems and processes with confidence. Alongside this, you will contribute to compliance, organisational risk management and the continuous improvement of learning administration and systems.

About the role

You will provide end-to-end administrative support for SYMCA's organisational development and talent activity. Working closely with colleagues across People Services and the wider organisation, you will help ensure learning support is efficient, consistent and well-integrated with other people processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating development-related enquiries and requests, providing accurate guidance, triaging priorities and escalating complex issues.
  • Administering SYMCA's Learning Management System (LMS) and learning records.
  • Managing the logistics for learning events and workshops, coordinating venues or technology, communications, accessibility requirements, attendance registers and post-session evaluations.
  • Providing administrative support for SYMCA's early careers and apprenticeship activity and supporting apprenticeship levy administration.
  • Collecting, maintaining and analysing learning evaluation and completion data, issuing feedback requests, maintaining dashboards or spreadsheets.
  • Providing administrative support to organisational development projects and programmes.
  • Working collaboratively across People Services and the wider organisation to ensure learning support integrates with onboarding, systems and other people processes, contributing to service improvements.

About you

We are looking for a well-organised, proactive and customer-focused individual with strong administrative skills and confidence working with systems, data and multiple stakeholders. You will have a keen eye for detail, be comfortable managing competing priorities, and take a continuous-improvement approach to how services are delivered.

You will bring:

  • Experience in an administrative support role delivering a high-volume, customer-focused service.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 applications (including Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word) and maintaining accurate records and systems.
  • Experience handling sensitive data and maintaining confidentiality, with an understanding of data protection principles.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to provide helpful guidance to colleagues, managers and suppliers.
  • Experience producing accurate reports or management information, such as registers, completion data or basic summaries, to support compliance and decision-making.
  • A proactive mindset, with the confidence to spot issues, suggest improvements and help refine processes.
  • Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS) and/or supporting e-learning (desirable).
  • Experience coordinating training or development logistics, such as events, inductions and evaluations (desirable).
