This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

We’re looking for a talented, people‑centred, and forward‑thinking People Business Partner - Change & Transformation to join our People Services team at a pivotal time of growth and transformation. Working closely with the Head of HR Change, you’ll play a key role in delivering organisation‑wide change initiatives; helping to design and embed modern, sustainable workforce initiatives that support our long‑term ambitions. This is an exciting opportunity to shape SYMCA’s future evolution, ensuring our people are supported, engaged, and ready throughout.

About the role

  • Partner with senior leaders to shape and deliver complex change and transformation programmes, providing expert HR guidance on organisation design and strategic workforce planning, and leading the delivery of workshops, consultations, and change interventions.
  • Take the lead on TUPE transfers, from due diligence through to consultation and successful integration.
  • Build strong relationships with trade unions and stakeholders, fostering meaningful engagement and consultation processes.
  • Advise stakeholders on complex employee relations issues linked to change initiatives, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice.
  • Use workforce data and insight to drive informed decision‑making and continuous improvement.

About you

You’ll bring a strong blend of strategic thinking and practical delivery, with the ability to influence at all levels. We’re particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience operating as an HR Business Partner within a change and transformation or similarly complex environment, and/or the ability to demonstrate strong capability in leading and supporting organisational change.
  • Experience of organisational redesign, TUPE transfers, and leading consultation processes associated with organisational change, including working with trade unions.
  • In‑depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience leading and facilitating senior stakeholder discussions to achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Experience in the public sector is beneficial but not essential.
