NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board is a statutory NHS organisation, formed in response to the Health and Care Act 2022, responsible for securing healthcare provision for the 1.4m population of South Yorkshire. Our core responsibility is to develop a plan to meet the health needs of the population, manage the NHS budget and arrange for the provision of health services in the Integrated Care System area.
Across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield we work alongside our local councils, our voluntary, community and social enterprises sector and other partners to address health inequalities and wider determinants of health.
NHS South Yorkshire serves a large and diverse population of 1.4 million across our region and surrounding areas. We work across the system to commission services and support our hospitals, community services and local authorities, and we are proud to lead integrated care efforts, working collaboratively with our clinical, academic and community partners to deliver high-quality, sustainable health and care services.
We are proud of our achievements to date but we are equally ambitious about our future. Like many health systems, we face rising demand for services and significant challenges, and therefore it is imperative we transform services to meet the evolving needs of our communities. With our partners we are committed to delivering outstanding care, improving patient experience and outcomes, reducing health inequalities, and working across the system to provide integrated and sustainable care for all communities we serve.
The role of Chief Executive Officer is central to this mission. As CEO, you will lead our executive team and help set and drive our strategic vision. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of governance, accountability and transparency. You will lead the delivery of our strategic priorities â including quality of care, patient safety, workforce wellbeing, digital innovation, financial stability, population health and health equity. You will ensure that we continue to build a culture of inclusion, collaboration, continuous improvement and accountability across all levels of the organisation.
This is an especially important time to join NHS South Yorkshire, as we seek to transform how health and care services are delivered across the region and become the strategic commissioner. In partnership with local authorities, social care and voluntaryâsector organisations we are tackling health inequalities and developing new models of care across our Integrated Care System.
Your role will be to provide strong, valuesâled leadership â guiding and inspiring colleagues across the region, managing risk, leading through scrutiny and change, and driving sustainable improvement in quality, performance and experience. You will bring insight, strategic perspective, integrity and resilience, and show a genuine commitment to equality, inclusion and community focus. Above all, you will foster a culture in which staff feel supported, patients receive compassionate highâquality care, and communities have confidence in our leadership and vision.
We strongly value diversity of thought and background. Whether your experience comes from within the NHS, other public services or the private or voluntary sectors, we welcome perspectives that reflect integrity, collaboration, innovation and a deep commitment to equity and social value.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity. You will be helping to lead an organisation with profound impact on people's lives across South Yorkshire â ensuring that our leadership is aligned with the scale and importance of our mission. You will be supported by a committed and ambitious Board, and together we will work to strengthen NHS South Yorkshire for the future.
