Location: SYFR Headquarters, Eyre Street, Sheffield S1 3FG

Hours: Full Time – 37 hours per week (flexi time)

Contract: Fixed‑term until April 2027

Salary: £26,403–£28,142 per annum (Grade 4), subject to national pay award negotiations for 2026.

Purpose of the role

The role ensures the execution of data quality routines, proactively monitors and reports on data quality issues, and provides systems administration and support for data collection systems.

Key duties

  • Support Business Intelligence in managing key data collection systems.
  • Ensure data quality to support informed decision‑making.
  • Ensure quality assurance of statutory obligations and submit data to the National Fire Chiefs Council, Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government and other organisations.
  • Conduct system reviews, recommend performance improvements, collate and validate statistical returns.
  • Perform daily data quality checks and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Track and audit data passing through Business Intelligence managed systems.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in data quality management or a similar role.
  • Experience supporting the development of key documentation.
  • Ability to provide systems administration and support for data collection systems.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of data quality management tools.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently and as part of a team.
