About the job
The role provides critical support to the implementation of Retail Systems, in preparation and delivery of replacement ticket systems or equipment. Leading all installations on site as the SWR Retail representative alongside system suppliers, the role holder is responsible for ensuring the new ticket systems are installed correctly and tested to an agreed criteria. This role may also be required to provide some on-site training or coaching as necessary.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- The Implementation Manager will support the TIS Refresh Project Manager in preparation and installation of replacement systems or equipment.
- Work in conjunction with the Project Manager to agree implementation plan.
- Provide on-site support during installations for SWR staff and managers as well as 3rd party suppliers, including but not limited to Worldline and Barron McCann.
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and available, including but not limited to Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Ensure that equipment is installed correctly and tested to an agreed criteria.
- Manage and implement the Communication Plan pre and post installation.
- Act as a point of contact with the front-line management teams to arrange and complete all installations.
- Provide post installation support where required.
- Provide on-site training or coaching where required for clerks and managers.
- Installations are usually completed during office hours Monday to Friday. The refresh of ticket systems will take place across the whole SWR network, and the Implementation Manager will need to be flexible in working at any of the 158 locations included in the project. This may also include late changes to the agreed rollout plan as required, which may include long days and additional hours.
You\βll need:
- Experience of retailing systems and business processes on SWR.
- Must have proven numerate and literate analytical abilities and be able to communicate clearly.
- Able to make decisions to support the on-site installation as required.
- Has attention to detail in both planning and delivery.
- Ability to use Microsoft office and proficient in Word. Excel, Power Point
About the location
Basingstoke Train Station is an essential hub in the South Western Railway network. It offers a convenient link between the Southwestern counties of Bournemouth, Portsmouth & Southampton to London, Reading and Birmingham. It is a busy station with 5 platforms and is the home of Inspiration Junction, out Customer Experience training centre. It is also a short walk to Basingstoke Campus, a state-of-the-art training facility and office space shared with Network Rail.
Working pattern
You will be working an average of 37 hours across 5 days per week.
