About the job: The Debt Recovery Supervisor supports the management of Debt Recovery matters sent to specialist solicitors. The role will have a supervisory position within the Prosecutions Office and will be integral in the identification and management of Debt Recovery matters that cannot be prosecuted under Railway Byelaws. This is a key support role in fulfilling SWR's purpose as recovering unpaid debts enables the company to reinvest recovered funds into initiatives to bring people together to get the most out of life.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Liaise with Debt Recovery (DR) solicitors on all aspects of SWR DR.
- Supervising and tasking the DRPU office (prosecutions) admin team.
- Actioning all requests and reminders for debt recovery made by customers, the DRPU office.
- Completion of a New Instruction Checklist for each new referral to Debt recovery solicitors.
- Updating all case information on case management system and DR tracker.
- Keeping accurate payment records.
- Generating DR reports and KPIs when required.
- Regular checks with DR solicitors on cases on payment plans and on cases that have had little or no correspondence with them.
- Make decisions on case disposal.
- Providing feedback to staff on completed cases.
- Recalculating DR cases where new evidence has come to light.
- Older Case solutions.
- Additional tasks as specified by the DRPU management team applicable to the role.
You’ll need to be:
- Resilient and able to cope in a pressured environment.
- Effectively manage and adjust to shifting priorities with ease and efficiency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good general standard of education.
- Good level of numeracy.
- IT literate.
- Desirable: Ability to review and translate complex information to deliver to various stakeholders.
- Revenue Protection experience.
About the location: Overline House is conveniently situated overlooking Southampton Central Station and is easily accessible by public transport. The station is very local to West Quay, a hub for retailers and restaurants, and provides an excellent link between London, coastal areas and the Isle of Wight.
Working pattern: Working an average of 37 hours per week over 5 days, Monday to Friday between hours 09:00 to 17:00 with a 7 hour 24 minute shift.
