We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Data Analyst to join our dedicated and collaborative team within the Clinical Information and Records Office at South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care through data-driven insights.

As part of a small, friendly team of Clinical Information professionals, you will utilise a range of tools, including SQL, to provide robust data analysis, reporting, and insights that inform clinical and operational decision-making across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver data manipulation, reporting, and analytical services to support organisational intelligence and continuous service improvement.
  • Analyse and report on data from Clinical Information Systems, including:
  • System configuration using supplier administration tools and other relevant platforms.
  • User access and system security management.
  • Extract and interpret data from various systems and databases, presenting findings in a clear and actionable format for internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Working Arrangements

    • This role is based at our Exeter headquarters, with hybrid working available.
    • A minimum of 2–3 days per week in the office is expected, with occasional travel to other Trust sites.

    Reporting Line

    You will report to the Clinical Information Systems Manager.

    As a key member of the Clinical Information and Records Office, you will work collaboratively with the Research and Audit Team and other relevant departments to explore and optimise the use of clinical and operational data. Your work will support the Trust’s local, regional, and national reporting requirements and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, data-informed healthcare services.

    Key Responsibilities Include

    • Data Analysis and Interpretation Interrogate clinical databases and systems to extract, analyse, and report on data. Develop expert-level knowledge of clinical information systems to support problem-solving and evidence-based decision-making.
    • Team Collaboration and Strategic Input Play an active role in shaping team direction and priorities through collaborative discussions, idea generation, and problem-solving activities.
    • Knowledge Sharing and Team Support Use your expertise to support and train colleagues, contributing to team resilience and knowledge transfer as needed.
    • Documentation and Process Development Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date library of documentation related to data processes, procedures, and reporting. This includes the creation of user guides, training materials, and intelligent learning resources.
    • Reporting and Communication Develop and deliver clear, accessible, and meaningful reports that meet the clinical information needs of the Trust and support informed decision-making at all levels
