Community First Responder – Gloucestershire

We are seeking volunteers to join Community First Responder schemes across Gloucestershire, including areas such as Berkeley, Bourton on the Water, Cirencester, and others. These schemes involve trained volunteers attending emergency calls within their community to provide patient care, including basic life support and defibrillation, until an ambulance arrives.
If you are interested but do not live within 3 miles of a scheme, a Community First Responder car based at Staverton Ambulance Station responds to incidents across Gloucestershire and can be booked in advance.
Volunteering is unpaid but highly rewarding, offering opportunities to learn lifesaving skills and meet new people. Applicants should highlight their suitability for the role and meet the person specification. Note that only applicants from areas with active CFR schemes within a 3-mile radius will be shortlisted.
Applicants must be available for interviews during the weeks commencing Monday 1st & 8th September 2025 and for training on specific dates in September and October 2025 at SkillZone, Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, Tuffley Lane, Gloucester.
Volunteering for us means contributing to emergency and urgent care across the region, which covers 10,000 square miles and responds to around 2,650 incidents daily.
