Job Overview

When you call 999, your call goes to one of our Control Rooms in Exeter or Bristol. Our trained Call Handlers are the first point of contact for people experiencing medical emergencies. Your role involves listening, interpreting, and managing calls, recording accurate information, and providing advice or reassurance. You will enter details into a computer system about the patient\’s condition to determine the appropriate response.

This role operates 24/7, including bank holidays, weekends, days, and nights, with shift work.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an assessment centre. We are recruiting to a holding pool for upcoming course intakes.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Experience of accurate and quick data entry using a keyboard
- Basic computer literacy
- RSA Stage 1 keyboard skills
- First Aid at Work certification
Previous Experience
- Experience dealing with the public in a customer service setting
Additional Information
This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) 2020, requiring a Disclosure application to the DBS.
